Responding to Bad Advice (Job Lesson 6)

Sep 2, 2026    Ray Jones

I've been given some good advice down through the years. Among the many "golden nuggets" I've received came from an older minister who said that a pastor needs to have a "cool head, a warm heart, and a tough hide". He was right and I have sought diligently to put that into practice. But what about when the advice isn't quite so good? Like when someone suggests you should invest in Beanie Babies for your retirement? (No, I didn't do that.) Or that if you want to make a luxury purchase, go ahead and swipe that credit card even if you don't have the money? (Ok, I may have done that one a few or more times.) What do you do with bad advice? Job teaches us a little about this. Let's take a closer look at that in this lesson. Thanks for tuning in!
